A Little Touch of Homemade

Hmmmm... looks as if I have been away from my Blog.  No excuses, just really busy with orders from the shop.  Not sure exactly how many I made, but let me tell you, I made enough stockings to fill the back bed of a large pick up truck!  Happy to report the last order left about 2 hours ago and the shop is feeling the tension slowly fading.......Wow! What a month!

If you are looking for something really fun and different to do as a special Birthday or Holiday idea, check out www.muddysstudio.com
We had such a great time and we go back tomorrow to pick up our lopsided bowls...some very short and others very tall.  Our group was a bunch of girls from ages 9 to old and we are still yapping about how much fun it was.

Have you made your Rag Rug yet?  Had a gal send me note on how happy she was with the pattern.  "Finished my first rug and searching for more scraps to start another!"  Come on, it's so easy to do and is especially great to work on during the cold months.

Stay tuned...so many new projects in my head.  Just need a little time to get them up and running.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

You can make this tote, bag, diaper bag in about an hour with our new simple instructions!  So very soft and so very easy to care for...just toss in wash and fluff dry!  The more you wash, the softer it becomes!

Can't get enought of these jars Jennifer is making!   The battery operated candle is an added safety step.   I have mine hanging in our flower bed by the front door and turn it on every night!  So many compliments.......
Such a cute idea!!  If you are like me and have only one or two dresses, you can always hang QUILTS on it!

Got SCRAPS? Time to start thinking about making a couple of these easy Rag Rugs! Turn that pile of old scraps into a wonderful rug that will last forever. I have one on my kitchen floor, a really large one in my sun room (sewing room) one in the bathroom and working on one for the bedroom.
Watching a movie while working on a rag rug just seems like the thing to do around here.
We sold fabric at the Long Beach Quilt Show last year and my daughter made this rug for me with pieces of the fabric left over. My favorite!! It has been in the wash so many times and still looks new.
You can get your instruction book with nice, big pictures and easy to follow instructions at Etsy.com/shop/snipitup
Book comes complete with hand designed, made to last forever, tool. Try it, I know you are going to love making these!

Jennifer made this adorable 'Ball Candle Jar' as a Birthday Gift.  Ohhhh, sooooo very clever!  The candle is battery operated making it safe and non-threatening.  It also comes with a tall, black metal hanger for hanging outside by or around your door!  So cute!!!

Finally!  One of these days I truly plan on getting caught up!

Love these birds.....

Ahhhhhhhhh We're Back!  This moving is for the birds!  It took almost 3 weeks before I could FIND  the sewing room let alone start USING it!  Boy, glad that is over!
Started a fun little quilt filled with colorful birds and hope to finish it tomorrow...then off to start another one!  As my dad would say, " times a wasting girl!!!!!"

Looking for that special gift for the new arrival?  This is Kate's Quilt and it is so easy to make..you can actually finish it in a day.   No batting, no special backing, no long arm, just a sweet little quilt that will last forever.  The cost is suprisingly low and you will learn the techinque after finishing one row and then, of course, you will be hooked, like I am, and start making them by the truck loads!  A snap to make it larger or smaller and if you make a mistake, believe me, it can be corrected with much ease.  Our granddaughter, Amanda at age 12, came over one day to sew and had it completed by the following day.  .
You really need to try this technique!  Very simple pattern and you can finish it in no time at all.

Yep!  They are coming soon and we must be ready!   My favorite antique looking stocking and so easy to make.  Comes in a kit with everything to complete as shown except thread and scissors.

Not too many folks appreciate these guys as much as I do!  Isn't he the cutest of bullfrogs!
It's going to be little chicks everywhere!  Hopefully this little gal will be finished by the weekend.  Still trying to decide what colors for her fluffy feathers.

Say Hello to Sally Sue.  This adorable doll was hand sewn by Kaylee, our 12 year old.  Hard to see, but Sally is wearing the cutest pair of blue jeans with the worn look.

Hope everyone is going outside today for lunch!  Gonna be another one of the wonderful, sunny days.

You can make this little door hanger in no time.  Made several today one with a flower, a puppy for the little ones dresser and my favorite... a  pretty blue one with an old piece of a quilt.  Maybe we should post pictures with instructions sometime next week to show how easy and fun these are to make.
